Bluestone Executive Communications is devoted to helping organizations and individuals find their voice, frame their story and connect with the people who matter most to them.
Our firm is led by veteran communication strategist Christina McKenna and supported by a team of exceptional communicators who hail from the fields of journalism, public relations, marketing and crisis management. Bluestone Executive Communications serves clients from across the globe. We are based just outside of Detroit in beautiful downtown Birmingham, Michigan.
Communication strategist Christina McKenna brings experience from both sides of the media firing line to provide clients with an insider’s perspective on how the most successful communicators captivate audiences, control the message and influence outcomes.
During 12 years as a TV anchor and reporter in Detroit, Seattle and Boston, McKenna interviewed thousands of newsmakers, from George W. Bush to Hillary Clinton to Bernie Sanders to Britney Spears, covering some of the world’s most influential politicians, business leaders and celebrities as they confronted crises in the glare of the public eye. Later, McKenna took her journalism experience to the other side of the microphone, as the spokesperson for a Fortune 500 company, publicly representing it through a series of high-profile crises..
McKenna earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Chicago and a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She also spent two years as a member of the full time faculty at Suffolk University in Boston where she taught journalism, writing and ethics.
“Bluestone” describes a type of natural building stone that serves as a foundation for structures around the world. Bluestone is sought for its strength, yet treasured for its style and beauty, with subtle hues reflecting the unique conditions that have formed every layer.
At Bluestone Executive Communications, we believe organizational communication must be strong and steadfast, yet delivered with authenticity, poise and style. Above all else, it must reflect each organization’s distinct history, values, challenges and goals.
Strength. Style. Distinction.
That about sums it up.
